LifePath Adds New Board Members, Elects 2023 Officers​

The Board of Directors of LifePath elected a new slate of board members and officers for 2023 at their fourth quarter meeting of 2022; Deborah Engel of the Town of New Scotland, Mary Alice Molgard of the Town of Berne Fire District; Benita Zahn of Capital Cardiology Associates. Additionally, Coretta Killikelly of CEK RN Consulting was elected to fill a vacant board seat at the third quarter meeting of 2022.

Deborah Engel
Senior Outreach Coordinator | Town of New Scotland

Deborah M. Engel is a lifelong resident of Albany County who grew up in Albany and lived in Voorheesville for over 40 years. She served in executive services at CSEA for 32 years before retiring in 2016. Following retirement, she became a volunteer assisting seniors before accepting a paid position as Senior Outreach Coordinator for the Town of New Scotland in 2018.

Debbie has a passion for providing solutions with friendliness and care and has repeatedly tapped her talent for making connections and finding resources to provide adequate care, assistance, and guidance to those in need. During the COVID crisis she was instrumental in assisting hundreds of seniors in obtaining vaccinations and provided critical connections to food and financial assistance. She is an officer of the New Scotland Democratic Committee and recipient of the NYS Senate 2021 Commendation Award, the Albany County Legislature’s “Beyond the Call” COVID-19 Award, and the 2022 Albany County Democratic Party Distinguished Woman Award.

Mary Alice Molgard
Commissioner | Town of Berne Fire District

Mary Alice Molgard has lived in Berne since 1989, and is a 27-year member of the Berne Fire Company. She has been a Commissioner of the Berne Fire District for 20 years, and is currently seeking re-election to a fifth term. 

In 2021, she was appointed by Governor Kathy Hochul to the NYS Recruitment and Retention Task Force for Firefighters and EMS. She is Past President and Board Member of the Women’s Press Club of New York State, and a Trustee Emerita of the Upper Hudson Library System. In July 2021, Mary Alice retired after 36 years as an Assistant Professor of Communications at the College of Saint Rose in Albany. Previously, Mary Alice was on the faculty at Radford University in Radford, Virginia, and Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. She has a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, both from Illinois State University.

Benita Zahn, DPS, MS, CPHWC, NBC-HWC
Certified Health Coach | Capital Cardiology Associates

Brooklyn native, Benita Zahn, graduated from SUNY Oswego in 1976 and worked in radio and television news in Long Island and Syracuse before moving to the Capital Region in 1979. During her 40 years serving as an anchor, health reporter, and producer at WNYT-Channel 13, Benita continued to pursue her passion for health and wellness, earning a master’s degree in Bioethics and a Doctorate of Professional Studies in Bioethics/Medical Ethics from Albany Medical College/Alden March Bioethics Institute. 

In 2021, Benita shifted careers becoming a certified health and wellness coach. She is launching her new business “B Your Best with Coach Benita” as well as a collaboration with Albany Associates in Cardiology. Benita continues to use her education and experience in theater arts in regional theater, as an extra in film and television productions, and as a frequent MC and performer in musical productions benefiting multiple charities.

Coretta Killikelly, DNP(c), MSN, RN
Founder & Executive Director of CEK RN Consulting

Albany resident, Coretta Killikelly, is a doctorate prepared nurse who received her associate’s degree in Nursing from Hudson Valley Community College before earning Bachelor and Master’s of Science degrees in Nursing from The Sage Colleges. Coretta has worked in both the private and public sectors for over 19 years in the areas of Geriatrics, Ambulatory Care, Management, Case Management, and Health Education, including 13 years as Nursing Care Manager at Albany Stratton VA Medical Center.

Coretta is the Founder and Executive Director of CEK RN Consulting, Inc., located in the Blake Annex at 1 Steuben Place in Albany.  She identified the need for her service when friends and family would ask her to interpret medical terminology and information they received from their doctor’s appointments, often asking her to accompany them to their appointments to help explain what the providers were recommending. In 2017 Coretta founded the not-for-profit charity CEK RN Consulting, Inc. with the mission to “provide clients with a better understanding of their healthcare treatment(s) through advocacy and health literacy resulting in a better quality of life.”

Officers re-elected for a second three-year term were Stephanie Hadcock and Kristine Lindskoog, both of CDPHP.
 
Continuing their service on the Board include Edward Tremblay as Board President, Amanda Wheeler as Vice President and Secretary, P.J. Hosner Jr. as Treasurer, Vera Dordick as Immediate Past President, rounding out the board include Aaron Carbone, Esq., Thomas Miller and Sarah Wiseman
